If you enrolled your child in kindergarten, and did NOT receive a "Welcome to Kindergarten" packet, call me, so that you can pick one up from me.
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to Krystal School of Science, Math Technology!
Kindergarten is an exciting experience and is the beginning of growth-filled years! It is our desire and our goal that our “newest” students will have a truly enjoyable and successful beginning school experience.
By CHOOSING Krystal, you have already acknowledged that you believe your involvement in your child’s education is paramount. In fact, research indicates that parental involvement is the key factor in a child’s educational development. Beginning in kindergarten and throughout their academic years, we hope that you stay actively involved in your child’s education. With this in mind, we are asking that you allow our teachers the time necessary to develop the teacher-student bond. In other words, we are asking that parents wait until the third week of school to volunteer in the kindergarten classrooms. For the first two weeks, our teachers need the time to teach your child to adjust to school, without parents. These first two weeks are very important, and can become difficult if the student is not allowed to attend school without their parent. Again, at the beginning of the third week, parents are more than welcomed to volunteer. We appreciate your understanding. We welcome and value your input and communication, as together, we work towards your child’s academic success. Whenever we may be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact us.
Again, welcome to the Krystal family!!!
Daily Schedule
At Krystal, our Kindergarten program will go from 9:10 a.m.-12:46 p.m., except on Wednesdays (9:10-11:49). During this time, students will be taught grade-level standards in all subject areas.
We will be offering an OPTIONAL enrichment/re-teaching time for the rest of the school day. This means that those Kindergarten students who will be staying will have the opportunity to have a lunchtime, where they will eat and play.
After that time is over, students will begin their enrichment/re-teaching time. The activities that the students will be involved with, during those times, are yet to be determined.
Bussing
Bussing will be available for the ride to school for all grades. There will, however, be no bussing provided for those Kindergarten students who go home at the end of the AM Session (12:46/11:49). Bussing will be available, though, for the ride home for all grades.
