News & AnnouncementsENROLLMENT INFORMATION!!!!! If your child is a current student at Krystal, you will NOT have to "re-enroll" for the 2010/2011 school year. We will be sending home a form, in the next couple of weeks, on which you will let us know if you plan on continuing to send your child to Krystal during the 2010/2011 school year. You can download this form, if you'd like. It is available in the top left-hand corner, labeled "Current Students Enrollment." 2010/2011 KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION!!!!!! We are in the process of "pre-registering" students for next year's kindergarten. If your child is on the kindergarten waiting list for 2010/2011, please come in and "pre-register." An information sheet has been posted on this page, in the left-hand corner.
If your child is currently a sixth grader here at Krystal, and you do NOT plan on sending him/her Ranchero Middle School, please call our office and let us know. This will help Ranchero in their planning for the 2010/2011 school year.
A copy of the Science Fair Project packet is available to download. You can find it in the top left-hand corner.
A flyer has been posted for those who are interested in becoming a PTA officer for the 2010/2011 school year. It is entited, "nomination flyer."
If you would like to see pictures of the third Comet Club 360, they have now been posted on our site. They are in the "Student Information" section.
***We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Cooley Construction for their recent donation to our PTA. It is wonderful when local companies help provide field trips and assemblies for our students.
DRESS CODE CLARIFICATION: If students wear a jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater inside the classroom, these need to be the school uniform colors (blue, black, white, khaki). If the jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater are worn outside only, other colors are okay. In addition, if your child is wearing a visible undershirt (thermals, turtleneck, etc.), those need to be school colors, as well.
We thank you for all of the support you have given us so far this year. As we continue to fine-tune everything here at Krystal, we are asking you to continue to be "good neighbors" by not parking in front of/blocking our neighbors' driveways when you are in the pick-up line at the end of the day.
We love animals, but for the safety of our students, we need all pets kept off of school grounds. This includes drop-off and pick-up times, as well. Thank you for understanding.
For student safety, only students grades 1-6 will be allowed on the playground. Parents are welcome to sign-in in the office, obtain a visitor sticker, and wait in the cafeteria with their child until the bell rings. Once the bell rings, parents may walk their child to the line-up area to meet the teacher. The parents may then return through the hallways to the front office.
Our Parent/Student Handbook has been posted! Check it out on the left-hand side.
2009-2010 Bus Routes have been posted! You will find them under the "Parent Info" section on this website.
If you have an incoming kindergarten student, make sure to check-out some new information in the "Welcome to Kindergarten" section of our website. The new information is highlighted in blue.
Make sure to check out the newly posted, "Parent Guidelines," in the Parent Info section of the menu bar. In this, you will find out the processes for volunteering, visiting, and contacting your child's teacher.
Make sure you read the change we have made to our dress code policy. This change was made because student safety is crucial. Here is the change: "In addition, for the safety of our kids, if students wear sandals, they must wear sandals with "closed toes" and a strap on the back. This can help prevent injuries to feet. Students need to have the capability to participate in physical education, and inappropriate shoes can be a hindrance."
If you have any science, new AA batteries, or book donations, please save them and drop them off at Krystal. Also, make sure to save used Caprisuns, "boxtops," and Campbell's "labels/points"- for fundraising purposes. You may bring these to Krystal, as well.
Here is the latest information on next year's free/reduced meal program. You need to obtain an application from the Nutrition Services Department (11176 G Avenue). Applications for 2009/2010 will be available in July. Call the Nutrition Services office at (760) 948-1051, or come by their office between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. They will mail the applications, if necessary.
***If you are interested in being a PARENT VOLUNTEER for the 2009/2010 school year, come by and pick-up a form. When you turn it in, you will need to provide a copy of your drivers license, as well. Once completed, we will turn the form in to the District.
***If you are interested in your child attending the After School Activities Program (ASAP) for Krystal, pick one up at Krystal. Once you have completed the registration packet, you can bring it to Lime Street Park, and give it to the receptionist at the main office.
